discussion: Danse contributeur: Psychotine url: https://www.musiques-incongrues.net/forum/discussion/1866/#Comment_103620 This is the YouTube premiere for this enchanting recording. I'm a big Nick Drake fan (Nick Drake is one of the most influential folk musicians to have ever lived), so when I heard that his mother recorded a few songs herself, I had to check them out. This song, "Try to Remember" really hit me hard. it was so haunting, so gorgeous, so eloquent, but so very very brief. For me, it encapsulated her love of her son and the fleeting thing he was. It shocked me that this song was just as much a ghost as she, so I decided it needed to be more readily available for everyone. The only thing was... I also had to do my laundry. So, I figured I'd kill two birds with one stone. While my lights & colors spun around in the washers and dryers, I spun around the laundromat and recorded this from multiple angles while listening to the song on repeat. Cutting it all together was quite enjoyable, and quite challenging. Because I had no control of my environment, I had to give up on making backgrounds match and only focus on matching movements. The end result was rewarding, however, as the fleeting and unreliable background elements ended up matching the whole "here today, gone tomorrow" essence of the entire affair.
